Sample/model responses to CCPA request for information access, deletion or do not sell/opt out
What happens after a consumer exercises her or his CCPA rights by filling out a privacy request webform like the one at right by CCPA Toll Free? How you should respond to a request depends on the request type (e.g., right to know / access vs. deletion vs. do not sell my person information), where the consumer resides, and the type of data you collect. While there is no one-size fits all approach to responding, we are sharing below the templates we use internally at CCPA Toll Free for these purposes. When we respond to a request, we use the compliance notes feature of the CCPA Toll Free dashboard to record how we complied with the consumer request (e.g., by pasting in our email response as a compliance note), and in our email response to the consumer, we include the unique request ID generated by CCPA Toll Free. This way we can easily lookup for any request in the dashboard to the exact email we sent to the consumer.

Your request indicated that you reside in a state other than California. At this time, we are not accepting requests of the type you submitted from persons who do not reside in California. As such, we marked this request as completed.
